Welcome to APESS 2024
It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 2024 Asia-Pacific-Euro Summer School on Smart Structures Technology (APESS) to be held from 1st to 19th July 2024 at Kyoto University, Japan. The summer school is organized under auspices of the Asian-Pacific Network of Centers for Research in Smart Structures Technology (ANCRiSST).
The APESS program aims at providing participants with international oriented program that recognizes both the achievements in smart structures technology of participating nations as well as a common desire to pioneer a structured educational framework. Through this program, participants will be exposed to leaders in the field, both domestic and international.

Overview
APESS2024 is an intensive three-week programme organised by the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, consisting of coursework, lectures, laboratory exercises, technical visits and cultural activities. The programme includes lectures by world-leading experts in the fields of civil engineering, structural dynamics and control, smart structural technology and structural health monitoring, as well as a capstone competition, allowing students to consolidate the knowledge gained during the summer school. APESS2024 is intended for graduate students, PhD students, and post-doctoral researchers working in the field of emerging technologies and data analysis applied to structural health monitoring, structural dynamics, structural control and data science.
For the participants' reference: A total cost is roughly estimated to be 280,000 JPY or 1,900 USD (including the early-bird registration, hotel room, daily commute and meals, but excluding the flight). A breakdown can be found HERE.
